Become a Volunteer

Who They Are:

We love volunteers! They are the thing that makes Grace Place work. Many volunteers come to us through the school system for community service. Other volunteers come from church and school groups. Both men and women are welcome to volunteer. We also have individuals who want to put some structure into their lives. They come weekly. If you have a few hours every week, we would love to have you spend some time with us.

Mentors:

*Women helping moms with instructional videos and emotional support. A set time is needed so you can work with moms every week.
*Greet mom and baby-daddy.
*Pull the client’s online file, determine the video to watch, record Baby Bucks and video in file.
*Review with client the lesson over the phone.
*Read Spiritual Application and lead client in prayer.

Boutique Volunteer:

*Help moms while shopping.
*Stock stores and keep it tidy.
*Sort laundered donations by season, gender, and size.
*Check out moms when they complete their shopping.
*Record clients shopping and Baby Bucks in their online file.

Donation Processor:

*Greet donors and give them a tax receipt.
*Package diapers.
*Sort donations. Remove stained, torn or work items. Pretreat as needed. Wash donations.
*Sort laundered donations by season, gender, and size.
*Weekly commitment not required. Work with Client manager to establish a schedule.

Volunteer Requirements:

Please read these basic qualifications/requirements for all volunteer positions at Grace Place before completing an application. If you have questions, please call 620-655-8050.

*Fill out a volunteer application
*Pass a background check
*Interview with Client Services Director
*Able to stand, bend, climb, and lift at least 20 pounds.
